The employees of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has protest the non-implementation of national minimum wage, the development which led to delayed in taking off and landing of Aircraft at Malam Aminu Kano international airport, Kano.
Timoty Meshelia, the Northwest zonal chairman of the Amalgamated union of public corporation, civil service technical and recreational employees disclosed this in an interview with GLOBAL TRACKER in Kano.
The staff accused the management of NiMet of non-implementation of full 30 thousand and 70 thousand naira new national minimum wage, nonpayment of staff allowance, ignoring request for inclusion of omitted staff in the past payments, neglecting key training programmes among other.

The association give the Management to within one month, implement ameliorative measures to mitigate the economic challenges faced by staff, including the payment of a Subsistence Allowance after agreement with the unions. Additional provisions for staff welfare will be further deliberated upon.
