The Kano State government has urged people in the state to be conscious of their immediate environment especially during the Sallah festivities where people slaughter their animals for sacrifice, hence the need to ensure proper handling of the animals waste to avoid polluting the environment.
The state commissioner for Environment and Climate Change Rt Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo disclosed this in his sallah message to the general populace.
Garo in a statement by the ministry’s director of Public relations and enlightenment Malam Ismail Garba Gwammaja said the call become necessary as people is in the habitat of dumping Animals Waste and garbage recklessly, the development that may course nuisance which may change the environment to be unfriendly.

“Some times people committed indiscriminate slaughter and dumping animal waste anywhere sometimes through waterways and this eventually May cause flooding especially now that we’re at the raining season period,” said the statement.
He therefore advised people instead of dumping the animal waste anywhere or at the waterways which may cause nuisance, they should dig a hole and buried all unwanted raminent for safe landing.
The Commissioner also enjoined those engaged in using tyres for drying animal skin or any part of the animal to desist because of the environmental and health hazard, in place of this they should use charcoal or fire wood for the time being.
Meanwhile, he used the occasion to congratulate Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, Speaker Kano State House of Assembly Hon. Ismail Falgore and other members, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II and all Muslims ummah a hitch free sallah celebration.
