US Running Out of Air-defense As Demand From Israel, Ukraine Surges

The United States (US) is running low on some types of air-defense missiles, raising questions about the Pentagon’s readiness to respond to the continuing wars all over the front.

Standard Missiles, which are usually ship-launched, are among the most common interceptors the US. has used to defend Israeli territory from missile attacks, and are critical for protecting ships in the Red Sea.

The Washington has launched more than 100 Standard Missiles October 2023 when war between Hamas and Israel brokered.

The Pentagon worries it could run through its inventory faster than it can replace them, leaving the U.S. vulnerable in a potential conflict in the Pacific

Since the war between Hamas and Israel began last year, U.S. ships have launched more than $1.8 billion worth of interceptors to stop Iran and its allies from attacking Israel and ships traveling through the Red Sea, according to the Navy.

Asked on the remaining system at the disposal of the Washington, the Department of Defense told the Journalist that they can’t disclose exactly how many missiles are left, due to security concerns.
