Ramadan Trust Initiatives Empower Over 100 Vulnerable Households in Kano

The Ramadan Trust Initiatives has empowered at least 100 women and men households aimed at bringing succor to vulnerable in the society.

Pharmacists Ahmad Ibrahim Yakasai, the chairman of the initiatives disclosed this while briefing journalist shortly after the commencement of the distribution exercise held in Al-furqan jumua’at mosque in Kano metropolis at the weekend.

The chairman said the exercise started 10-years ago where they designate centers for distribution of cooked and rough-food during Ramadan.

“For the rough food we have twelve (12) centers, while for the cooked-food we have three (3) centers namely center one at Sir Muhammadu Sanusi general hospital, one at Makafin Dala and the other one is one Tsangaya where the Almajiri’s do not go to street-begging that is why we always support the Tsangaya to encourage them stop begging,” said the chairman who double as ‘Kachallan Kano.’

“We share Rice, Macaroni, Millets and Spaghetti, normally we gives N20,000 naira as empowerment to women, so because of the economic situation we increase its size by 50% now this year we gave every women beneficiary N30,000 Naira,” said the chairman.

In a remark, the chief Imam of Al-furqan Mosque Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar said the women who happened to be the lion share of the beneficiaries were carefully selected for the empowerment as they run the households due death of their husband’s.

He urged philanthropist to support less privilege in the society, quoting prophet Muhammad S.A.W as saying “those who show mercy to others, may also received the mercy of Allah.”
