Gombe AGILE Project has kick-starts the Training of Trainers under the Life Skills Component, with strong vigor for proper implementation of the project.
The five day training was organized by a Consultant firm, Guidance and Counselling Development Association in collaboration with the Gombe State AGILE Project.
During the opening ceremony held at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe, the State Project Coordinator Dr Amina Haruna Abdul represented by the Deputy Project Coordinator, Aishatu Sambo said in line with the project objectives, AGILE in the state is committed to ensuring success during the implementation of the project.

Dr. Amina Haruna Abdul described life skills as one of the key component that the project is laying solid foundation for it’s proper and systematic execution for the benefit of the adolescent girls.
The project coordinator therefore called on the participants to contribute immensely for the success of the project.
In her remarks, the World Bank National Team lead, Mrs Dorcas Kadangs Yakubu commended the phase at which a strong foundation is laid for the component and urged the organizers to abide by the project objectives and guidelines as the Bank has zero tolerance to any act of deviation.
Earlier, the Gombe State component lead on Life Skills, Walida Maryam Muhammad said the program was designed to train master trainers on basic knowledge in life skills with a view to cascading the acquired knowledge to teachers in public schools across the state.
The participants were drawn from Tertiary institutions, Faith based as well as Guidance and Counseling organizations in the State.
Presentations on Life Skills, Gender Based Violence (GBV), and practical demonstration of Safe Space sessions were made during the program.
