Kano Governor Okays Reconstruction of Mosque Burnt Down by Arsonist in Gezawa

The executive governor of Kano state Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the sum of One Hundred and Fifty-One Million, Eight Hundred and Sixty-Three Thousand, Eight Hundred and Ninety-Five Naira, Ninety-Seven Kobo (₦151,863,895.97) for the reconstruction of a Mosque which was burnt down by an arsonist at Tiga Gadan in Gezawa Local Government Council Area in the early hours of May 16th 2024.

Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the state commissioner for information and internal affairs disclosed this in a statement he personally signed and sent to GLOBAL TRACKER.

According to the statement, the development is administration’s continuous commitment, yearnings and aspirations of Muslim Ummah.

The statement said the building shall also include an Islamiyya school with an office block, including renovation of a block of six toilets facility, a motorised solar-powered borehole with overhead tank.

The approval for the reconstruction of the Mosque came in the wake of a fulfilment of a pledge made by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, when he visited the scene of the incident at Gezawa, where he promised to reconstruct the Mosque.

The residents of the area expressed their joy upon receiving the good news which they described as the highest demonstration of a sense of responsibility, to see a leader fulfilling his pledge to the people, “this action is indeed hounorable. It is more than anything, “as some residents asserted.

While the residents registered their appreciation for the governor’s show of dignity and magnanimity which has once again proved him to be a true leader as he is well known and addressed by many.

The Kano State Government therefore called on the good people of Tiga Gadan, in Gezawa Local Government Council Area, to reciprocate this gesture by providing the needed support to ensure the successful completion of the project, as well as to provide the needed protection to the new buildings.
