CSADI Celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Urges Automatic Employment for Disabled Graduates in Kano

As parts of its called for inclusive and equitable governance to persons living with disabilities (PLWDs), the Community Support and Development Initiatives (CSADI) has urged the federal and Kano state governments to provide automatic employment opportunities to all people living with disabilities who graduated from all universities, colleges of education and polytechnic.

Mrs Zainab Ahmed Suleiman MFR, JP, the executive director of (CSADI) made the call while briefing journalists as part of its celebration of the 2025 International Day of Persons living with Disabilities themed “Fostering Disability Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress”, which is aimed to reaffirm the commitment of creating more justice, inclusive, equitable, and sustainable world for all held in Kano on Wednesday.

“Each year we remember the international day of persons living with Disabilities, despite economic hardship, we make sure the 30 women we have with us are happy, they appreciate themselves, some of the PLWDS we thought them skills so as they can be self reliance,” said Zainab.

“We have introduce them into village savings and lones, now they have about hundred thousand in their pouse, so in CSADI we also support them, we will continues to support them as usual, even today they have brought a complaint to us and we will meet with all stakeholders to ensure the problem is solved,” she said.

During the celebration of the day, highlights issues such as higher poverty risks, employment discrimination, inadequate social protection, and barriers to accessibility remained challenges facing PLWDs globally and the executive of the group promised to work with stakeholders to address them.
