BREAKING: Phone Snatcher Set on Fire by Angry Residents in Kano

A phone snatcher was reportedly set on fire today near Almuntada Mosque in Dorayi, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano metropolis, after attacking a woman and attempting to flee with her phone.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to Global Tracker newspaper correspondent Nasiru Mohammed Waziri, said members of the public quickly overpowered the suspect before setting him on fire.

An eyewitness and resident of Dorayi told GLOBAL TRACKER that the woman was injured by the phone snatcher but could not confirmed the level of injury or death.

The eyewitness described the scene as chaotic, with residents reacting angrily to the robbery attempt.

The incident underscores the growing tension in parts of Kano metropolis, where phone-snatching and other street crimes have been on the rise.

While residents expressed frustration at the lack of immediate law enforcement, authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.

GLOBAL TRACKER reports that all efforts to reach out to Kano state police public relations officer SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa proved abortive at press time.
