NUJ Kano Felicitates Muslims on Eid al-Adha, Commends Journalists for Professionalism

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kano State Council has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Adha, urging Muslims to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, faith, and devotion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Acting Secretary of the Council, Hauwa S. Zahradeen, the union described Eid al-Adha as a spiritually significant occasion that offers Muslims the opportunity for reflection, renewal of faith, and stronger devotion to Almighty Allah.

The Acting Chairman of the Council, Mustafa Gambo Muhammad, said the celebration should inspire Muslims to emulate the virtues and sterling character of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) for the betterment of humanity both in this world and in the hereafter.

“This sacred occasion is a yearly opportunity for Muslims to reflect, renew their faith, and strengthen their devotion to Almighty Allah. We urge the Ummah to emulate the virtues and sterling character of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) for the collective benefit of mankind,” he stated.

Comrade Mustafa Gambo Muhammad also commended members of the Kano NUJ Council for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to ethical journalism.

He praised journalists in the state for their continuous efforts in delivering factual, balanced, and timely information to the public despite prevailing challenges in the media industry.

“We appreciate members of the Kano NUJ Council for their unwavering commitment to the ethics of journalism and their efforts in ensuring the dissemination of factual, balanced, and timely news,” he added.

The council further prayed for peace, unity, progress, and mutual understanding in Kano State, expressing hope that the Eid festivities would strengthen harmony and social cohesion among residents.

The union also offered special prayers for Nigerian pilgrims currently performing the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, wishing them a spiritually fulfilling and successful exercise as well as safe return to the country.
