The Kano State Police Command has commenced investigation into the mysterious death of a young businessman, Isma’il Makaye, at the residence of a popular Kano-based TikTok personality and solo dancer, Fati Cele.
The incident, which occurred on Friday morning, has generated widespread reactions on social media, with many residents calling for a thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the businessman’s death.
According to sources, the incident happened after a fire reportedly broke out at the residence of the TikTok personality in Kano State.

It was gathered that Fati Cele allegedly raised an alarm during the incident, prompting neighbours and residents to rush to the scene.
Eyewitnesses said neighbours who responded to the distress call reportedly found the businessman with burn injuries and traces of blood on parts of his body.
Sources close to the deceased disclosed that the victim was immediately rushed to Nassarawa Hospital for treatment but was later confirmed dead by medical personnel.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the TikTok personality is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
According to Kiyawa, Fati Cele also sustained burn injuries on her hands and was taken to hospital for medical attention.
It was further gathered that the deceased’s body reportedly had visible injuries in addition to burns sustained during the incident.
Sources also alleged that a shoe belonging to the TikTok personality was found with blood stains, although police authorities are yet to officially comment on the significance of the discovery.
Friends of both the deceased and the social media personality reportedly revealed that the pair had previously experienced relationship difficulties and separated at some point before recently reconciling.
The development has continued to spark intense reactions across various social media platforms, with users demanding justice and urging security agencies to conduct an unbiased investigation.
