The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing skills acquisition training to unemployed women and youths, to address the challenge of unemployment across the country.
The Director General of the Agency Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo made the disclosure Friday during the orientation and flag-off ceremony of Tie and Dye/confectionery and SYOB skills acquisition training held in Kano.
Represented by the state coordinator of NDE in Kano Alhaji Danjuma Shehu said the five days skill acquisition training will acquaint women and youth with the making of confectionery/ Tie and Dye, and Start Your Own Business (SYOB) stressing that the trade was trending amongst women and youth across the 44 local government areas of the state.

He said participants of the training should be able to conceptualize their business ideas to Establish their projects which would be reflected in feasibility reports submitted.
Alhaji Danjuma Shehu noted that 40 participants were partaking in the start-up of the five-day training, noting that It comprises Tie and Dye /confectionery and start-up your business training.
The coordinator maintained that each beneficiary would be awarded a loan of twenty thousand Naira to start the business after completing the training.
