The Civil Society in Malaria Immunizations and Nutrition (ACOMIN), Kano state office hold Monthly Coordination Meeting (MCM) as part of the engagement with Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to discuss some of the achievements recorded during the month under review and to find tune possible way out of the challenges.
The Kano state program officer (SPO) of ACOMIN Malam Sharif Abubakar while addressing the CBOs in Kano on Tuesday, commended them for their commitment in enlightenment of the members of the community on the need to take ownership of their health facilities in the state.
According to the SPO, the monthly coordination meeting’s objective is to gather all the implementing CBOs and partners to share their experiences, challenges and best practices and link the issues that are related to each partner so as to resolve them.

“Each CBOs us asked to explain to the group on his activities including success stories and challenges so that those challenges will be channeled, linked or addressed to stakeholders for prompt actions,” said Sharif.
He urged community leaders, traditional rulers and members of the community to support ACOMIN’s and others stakeholders commitment by taking ownership of their health facilities by making them liable and free from any challenges.
Meanwhile, the Dr. Abdullahi Koki of the Malaria Elimination Program Officer of the Kano state ministry of health has trained the attending CBOs on logistics chain management.
Koki who discussed extensively on the chain of logistics, ways of tracking commodities and supply at the facility level as well as ways of detecting irregularities in the management of global fund commodities urge community organizations to effectively work closely with management of health facilities so as to ensure accountability in the management of the commodities.
Also speaking, the Kano state chairman of ACOMIN Dr. Nura Haladu emphasizes the importance of harmonies relationship between CBOs and health professionals so as to ensure effective service delivery at any health facility in the state.
