Banditry: Kano Govt Approves Procurement and Installation of Surveillance Gadgets

The Kano state government has approved the supply and installation of automated intelligence surveillance Gadgets to be installed in Kano governor’s wing of the Kano state government house.

The government also approved and ordered the ministry of internal security to procure security equipment to enhance security measures to combat banditry in the state.

The Kano state commissioner of information and internal affairs comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the 34th state executive council meeting presided over by governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.

“The esteemed Council approved the total sum of N54,798,217,384.19 to enable execution of various projects in the state which includes: Phase II supply and installation of Automated Intelligence Surveillance Gadgets and Appliances at the Governor`s Wing, Government House, Kano which Ministry of Works will undertake at the cost of N1,294,437,153.22 and the Procurement of Security Equipment
Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services will handle the cost of N2,761,562,500.00

“Provision of operational vehicles to the implementation Committee on the establishment/take-off of Polytechnic at Gaya LGA to be chaired by Ministry for Higher Education at N345,000,000.00, Augmentation for the construction of Unguwa Uku-Yanwaki-Limawa junction road to be done by Ministry of Works at
N352,964,168.05, Review of contract rates in respect of construction of four Sharia Courts at various locations across the State which will be implemented by Ministry of Works N428,522,234.01 and Renovation and construction works at the Governor’s lodge Kwankwasiyya City by the Ministry of Works at N249,058,296.40.

Additional works under the general rehabilitation at Government Technical College (GTC) Dambatta which Ministry of Education to handle at N242,011,541.88, Additional Works under the general renovation at Government Technical College Ungogo to be done by the Ministry of Education at N188,428,006.10, Settlement of outstanding liabilities of Royal Tropicana Hotel which secretary to the State Government while handle at N150,000,000 and the establishment of an Emergency Operation Centre at Government House Kano which Ministry for Housing will undertake at N1,004,342,689.86 among others.
