A bomb detonated in a car in southern Moscow has killed a senior Russian general.
Preliminary reports from investigators said this in a statement in Moscow, the capital city of Russia.
According to the statement, an explosive device placed under a vehicle detonated on Yasenevaya Street in Moscow on the morning of December 22.

It said as a result of the explosion, Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov died from his injuries.
The head of the training department within the General Staff said Russia’s Investigative Committee reported on Monday that it had opened a probe into the “murder” of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov.
The statement said the investigation will also cover the possibility that the attack was “linked” to “Ukrainian special forces” was among the lines of inquiry, it said.
