The prime minister of France Sebastien Lecornu has resigned from his position, hours after he announced the composition of carbines that would support him in running government affairs.
Lecornu was France’s fifth prime minister in less than two years.
The country has been mired in political paralysis since inconclusive snap elections called by Macron in 2024 resulted in no party having an absolute majority in parliament.

The prime minister – a key ally of embattled French President Emmanuel Macron – had not even been in office for four weeks, meaning he departs with the ignominious distinction of being the shortest-serving French prime minister since the Fifth Republic began.
