The Islamic Republic of Iran has launched a direct attack on the United States Embassy in Riyadh in the Saudi Arabian capital late Monday night, marking one of the most serious breaches of diplomatic immunity in decades.
The assault coincided with a widening regional war following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory.
Saudi authorities confirmed that two Iranian drones struck the U.S. Embassy compound, resulting in a limited fire and minor material damage to the building in the diplomatic quarter of Riyadh.
There were no reported casualties inside the embassy, which was largely unoccupied at the time, but the incident triggered urgent security alerts and safety orders.
