The delegation of Nineteen seventeen Northern Consensus Movement which was led by National Secretary General Comrade Kabiru Sani Garko has arrived in Benin Edo State over the recent killings of Northerner Travelers in Uromi local government area of the state.
In a telephone interview with GLOBAL TRACKER correspondent, the secretary general said the visit is aimed at fact finding mission and engagement with stakeholders to ensure lasting solution to the challenges troubling northerners in southern part of the country.
He said a series of meeting was held with Sarkin Hausawa of Edo, Sarkin Fulani of Edo, Chairman Arewa Community in Edo, Chief Imam Edo and other relevant stakeholders.
Garko said their meeting centered on payment of compensation to Uromi attack victims families, ensuring perpetrators of the crime were brought to justice and similar incidents never happened.
“Our discussion with relevant stakeholders ensure that northern business communities unite themselves, remained peaceful with one another and respect the law of the land among others,” said Garko.
