Foreign Investors to Establish Two Companies Worth $1 Billion in Kebbi

The executive governor of Kebbi state Alhaji Nasir Idris says, his administration has signed an agreement with a Chinese company to invest $350 million for the establishment of a Lithium Plant at Libata, which will provide about 45,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The Governor stated when he received the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations Kebbi State Chapter on a courtesy call at Government House Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

Idris said similarly Kebbi has signed an agreement with another company to invest $600 million in a cement factory at Maiyama, expected to create 55,000 jobs.

He also enumerated achievements in other sectors within two years in office, noting that his administration inherited widespread infrastructural decay which it is working diligently to address them.

He condemned petitions with frivolous allegations that his government was importing mercenaries adding that, they held a security meeting, and the security agencies are already investigating such petitions.

The Governor further accused desperate opposition elements of sponsoring individuals to use social media to disparage him and paint Kebbi in a negative light.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations CSO’s, Ibrahim Ngaski expressed their readiness to partner with the administration of Governor Nasir Idris in advancing the development of Kebbi State, despite the campaign of calumny by some opposition elements.

Ngaski condemned the negative reports circulating about the state, stressing that Kebbi’s image must not be tarnished.

According to him, Kebbi is their state, and they do not want to see it castigated outside, and their coalition is prepared to sit down and discuss problems and the way forward.
