The International Committee of the Red Cross ICRC says four (4) volunteers at the Iranian Red Crescent Society who are at the forefront of humanitarian relief efforts died at the recently Israel-Iran Conflict.
ICRC disclosed this in a statement by Vincent Cassard, the ICRC head of delegation in Iran which was posted on its verified social media handle X @ICRC.
It said the volunteers risk their lives to save others, adding that “this shouldn’t have happened.”

It said medical personnel and first aid responders must be protected and respected.
“The Iranian Red Crescent Society

“Tragically, four of them were killed. This shouldn’t have happened.
“Medical personnel and first responders must be protected and respected. Our thoughts are with their families and colleagues as they mourn their loss.
“We remain in close and continuous contact with the Iranian Red Crescent Society to support their vital humanitarian efforts in the best possible way.”
The ICRC is a neutral, independent organization ensuring humanitarian protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other violence.
