The Emir of Hadejia in Jigawa state Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, has commended the Jigawa State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa for promoting unity among traditional rulers in the state.
The Emir made the commendation at the memorial lecture and the commissioning of a digital library named after the late monarch, which held in Tuwankalta in Jigawa state.
He said the Commissioner did a wonderful job organising a memorial lecture in honour of the late Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi.

Mr Maje said, the gathering of monarchs from different emirates demonstrated growing cooperation within Jigawa’s traditional institution and beyond.
He expressed that the act would help reinforce peace, stability and development across the state and beyond.
The Emir further described the initiative as complementary to government’s efforts, noting that unity among traditional rulers remained critical to effective grassroots engagement and conflict resolution.
In his speech, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Nuhu Sanusi, the son of the deceased monarch, also expressed appreciation to the commissioner for what he described as a meaningful and lasting tribute to his late father.
He said the memorial lecture and digital library would serve as enduring symbols of the former emir’s commitment to leadership, education and public service.
“Our family and the Dutse Emirate are grateful for this honour, particularly the digital library, which will contribute to learning and preserve our father’s legacy,” Mr Sanusi said.
In his address, Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Water Resources, Rtd Col Alhassan Muhammed, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the traditional institution in the state.
Namadi acknowledged the role of traditional rulers in promoting unity, peace and cultural heritage, pledging continued collaboration with traditional councils to advance development initiatives across Jigawa State.
In his welcome address, the Jigawa state Commissiner for Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, Mr Sagir Musa, said the event aimed at preserving his legacy and promoting learning.
“The Emir is a renowned scholar who contributed a lot to the advancement of education in Jigawa state and beyond.
“He supported children of the less privileged who couldn’t afford to send their wards to school and we feel obliged to promote his legacy,” Musa said.
It was gathered that the Commissioner who is also the founder of the Institute of Education and Development (IED), organised the first memorial lecture to honor the monarch by dedicating a digital library in his name.
The Centre has also honoured the Emir of Hadejia by dedicating a Hall in his name, to stress the role of Royal fathers in education and learning in Jigawa state.
The late Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi was a respected traditional ruler who reigned as Emir of Dutse for several years, during which he was known for promoting peaceful coexistence, education and community development within the emirate.
He played a key role in strengthening relations between the traditional institution and successive state administrations and was widely regarded as an advocate of moral leadership and social harmony.
Makaman Kano, Alhaji Sarki Ibrahim and other Kano monarchs who were friends to the deceased Emir graced the occasion.
The event also attracted traditional rulers, senior government officials, academics and members of the public, underscoring efforts by the state to honour past leaders while strengthening institutional cooperation and embracing digital innovation.
