The Kano state commissioner for public procurement and projects monitoring and evaluation Alhaji Nura Iro Ma’ajiyi has resigned his membership of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP).

Ma’aji disclosed this in a letter addressed to the chairman of NNPP Sumaila Ward and Sumaila Local area respectively, a copy of which was sent to GLOBAL TRACKER correspondent Nasiru Mohammed Waziri.

According to the letter, the resignation is due to subsequent resignation of Kano state governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf from the party.

The letter read “I am writing to formally resign my membership from the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), effective from 24 January, 2026. This decision becomes necessary as a result of
the resignation of my Principal His Excellency the Executive Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf from the Party (NNPP) As member of the State Executive Council I whole heartedly support the decision of his Excellency the Executive Governor.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the leadership of the party for their support and guidance during my time as a member. I have appreciated the camaraderie and the shared vision we have worked towards, and I am proud of the contributions I have made alongside my party supporters.

Thank you once again for the experiences and opportunities I have had while being a part of this party.
