Kano Governor Sacks Investment Commissioner

The executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sacked Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi of his appointment as Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry with immediate effect.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Director General, Media and Publicity, Kano state Government House.

According to the statement, the commissioner has been directed to hand over the affairs of the ministry to the Director of Commerce immediately, pending further directives.

Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to Sagagi for his services and contributions to the development of Kano State, particularly in the areas of politics, religion, and the promotion of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The governor also wished him success in his future endeavours, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to efficient service delivery and good governance.

The statement added that the decision forms part of an ongoing strategic realignment of government structures aimed at ensuring systematic growth and sustainable development in Kano State.

Officials say further updates on the leadership of the ministry are expected in due course as the government continues its reform agenda.
