The Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, has officially commissioned the newly constructed Gidan Mari Community Health Post.
Nabulisi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa, the public relations officer, Kano state ministry of health stated this in a statement sent to GLOBAL TRACKER in Kano on Friday.
According to the statement, the commissioning ceremony took place in Rogo Local Government Area, attracting key stakeholders and community members.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Pharmacist Aminu Bashir, Dr. Yusuf described the new health post as a remarkable contribution toward strengthening healthcare delivery services, not only for the Gidan Mari community but for Kano State at large.
He noted that the gesture demonstrates a shared commitment to ensuring access to quality healthcare, particularly in underserved rural areas.
The Commissioner commended the state government’s ongoing efforts to upgrade primary healthcare infrastructure across the 44 local government areas.
He added that the facility has been formally handed over to the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB) for effective management and utilization.
Dr. Yusuf further stated that the initiative is in harmony with the vision of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to bring healthcare closer to the people and reduce the burden of preventable diseases at the grassroots.
He emphasized that community participation and private sector support remain critical in sustaining progress in the health sector.
Also speaking at the event, the Director General, KSPHCMB, Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, lauded the establishment of such facilities not only to enhancing healthcare access but also provides employment opportunities for local residents, thereby contributing to socioeconomic development.
