Kano Govt, NUJ Mourns Rahama Radio Reporter Dahiru Yakasai

The Kano State Government, the Kano State Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs has convey the deepest condolences to the management and staff of Rahama Radio on the passing of esteemed colleague, Abubakar Dahiru Yakasai, whose dedication and passion for journalism left a lasting impact on the station and the profession.

Comrade Ibrahim Waiya, the Kano state commissioner for information and internal affairs disclosed this in a statement sent to journalist in Kano late friday.

According to the statement, Yakasai’s demise is a great loss not only to your esteemed station but also to the journalism profession and Kano State as a whole.

It said his commitment, professionalism, and contributions to the media landscape will be deeply missed.

“We also express our deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased during this difficult time. May Almighty Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and give his loved ones the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss,” added the statement.

Meanwhile, the Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists expressed its heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, staff of Rahama Radio, and the entire members of the pen profession over the demise of Abubakar Dahiru Yakasai of Rahama Radio.

In a statement jointly signed by the Council’s Chairman Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi and Secretary Abubakar Shehu Kwaru, they described the death of Yakasai as a great loss to the media community in Kano and beyond.

The statement recalled that the late Abubakar Yakasai, who was the pioneer court and crime reporter of Rahama Radio, was humble, dedicated, and reliable, contributing significantly to the development of journalism during his lifetime and calling on others to emulate him.

It added that his death left a vacuum difficult to fill.

The Council, therefore, prayed to God Almighty to make Jannatul Firdaus the final abode for the deceased and grant his family and colleagues the fortitude to bear the loss with courage.
