Kano Govt to Reward Best Performing Information Officers

in its efforts to ensure efficiency, accurate and professionalism during information dissemination, the Kano state government says it would start rewarding best performing information officers.

Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Kano state commissioner for information and internal affairs disclosed this at a 2-day capacity building workshop for local government information officers on promoting healthy eating habitats, themed; promoting healthy dietary practices and reducing the incidence of diet-related non-communicable diseases in Kano state.

“Some months back we have trained information officers on how to linkup with various media outlets in Kano state, we have seen a lots of changes and that why we decided this time to create a competition so that every month we will selected 1, 2 or 3 information officer, honor him, and reward him so that it will serve as motivation to others,” said Waiya.

The commissioner then assured the officers that the state government will soon fulfill its earlier promise made especially with regards to equipping them modern working materials aimed at ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination.

Meanwhile, the Forum of Kano State Information Officers has expressed profound appreciation to the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, for his outstanding contributions to the development of the state’s information sector.

The Chairman of the Forum, Comrade Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai, hinted this during an interaction with media GLOBAL TRACKER in Kano.

Yakasai commended the present administration led by governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya for sponsoring Vice Chairman of the Forum Comrade Munzali Muhammad Hausawa to attend the National Conference of the Guild of Editors held in Enugu State.

The Forum also lauded Comrade Waiya for his tireless efforts in revitalizing and strengthening the information dissemination machinery in the state.
