The Kano state government has urged the Kano civil society organizations (CSOs) to continue to engaged with her with sincerity and moral weight of calls for transparency and good governance.
It said the CSOs is not merely for invitations to dialogue or fighting for human rights, rather as co-architects of democracy whose presence at the grassroots keeps governance from being an abstraction.

He urged CSOs to remain dedicated, avoid corruption, and shun sentiments in the course of their daily activities.
“Civil society organisations have a critical role to play in tracking how governance is being handled,” Gwarzo said on the governor’s behalf.
“We appeal to you to help enlighten the public on the dangers of social vices such as thuggery and the sharing of fake news, and to promote peace and harmony across the state.”
The deputy governor noted that the conference offered a unique platform for government officials, academics, and civil society actors to exchange ideas on moving the state forward.
Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim Waiya, said the forum was designed to enhance effective service delivery and strengthen collaboration between government and non-state actors.
“The administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is running a transparent government and welcomes genuine criticism aimed at improving service delivery,”
“We urge participants to deliberate on issues that will deepen good governance and cement a mutual working relationship between CSOs and government.”
The event, themed “Empowering CSOs in Kano for Sustainable, Active Democratic Participation and Grassroots Development,” drew participants from a wide range of organisations operating within and outside the state.
“Kano’s decision to convene this first CSOs Conference is therefore, historic. It signals a new chapter where inclusivity, transparency and grassroots-driven development are no longer aspirations but commitments. The challenge before us now is to transform the energy of this gathering into enduring networks, resilient institutions and collaborative frameworks that will outlive this moment and shape the destiny of generations yet unborn,” said Waiya.
According to Waiy, the government’s commitment to accountability is also evident in the reforms across Ministries, Departments and Agencies, where Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf insists on due process and demands value for money spent on every project.
The milestones on the promotion of accountable governance and inclusivity can also be seen in the promotion of gender equity where sensitive appointments are given to women to recognize their stake and contributions, such as female High Court Judges, MDs, DGs, ES and PSs at strategic positions.
