The Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed deep appreciation to all National Executive Council (NEC) members who travelled from far and wide to witness the just-concluded NEC meeting in pyramid City.
A message collectively pencilled by the Chairman of the council comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi and the secretary Abubakar Shehu kwaru and despatched to media organisations, it described the session as unique likewise excellent and lively
According to the statement, It is delightfully recalled that, since Kano was accorded the green light for hosting the event during the previous top hierarchy sitting held in Abuja, there was much anxiety and eagerness from the participating colleagues from other parts of the country that their dream of visiting the most vibrant city in the north will become a reality.

According to the message, 11th to 13th of August will remain evergreen in the good memories of practicing men and women of the pen industry who were in the umbilical cord of commerce as Kano is fondly called to grace the National forum presided over by the courageous president of the union comrade Alhassan Yahya duly supported by his amiable Deputy Dr Abimbola Oyetunde and attended by almost all the NEC members comprising National working committee, zonal leadership as well as state councils chairmen and their secretaries nationwide and Abuja.
Climax of the colloquium encompassed media tour to project sites embarked upon by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration, a call to the Chief Executive who was represented by his submissive Deputy, comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, NEC session as well as dinner night and above all interaction with veterans journalists in Kano.
The message while thanking Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, most sincerely and wholeheartedly for graciously hosting the occasion through his untiring financial benevolence it similarly heaped praise to his responsible and loquacious Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, for his unwavering commitment to the programme.
It nevertheless, adored the outfit’s Leader Comrade Alhassan Yahya and his team for their profound solidarity and dedication to the cause and wish them safe journey to their respective domains.
