Kano Patriotic Front to Plant 22 Million Trees, Immortalize General Murtala Muhammad, Empower Youth — General Ibrahim Sani

The Rundunar Kishin Kano (Kano Patriotic Front — RKK) has announced plans to plant 22,000,000.00 million trees, 500,000 from each of the 44 local government areas of Kano state as part of the initiatives to tackle the growing issues of climates change affecting Kano state.

The group also planned to immortalize Nigeria’s former military head of state General Murtala Muhammad, looking at his legacies and contributions to the development of Kano state and the country by extension.

General Ibrahim Sani Rtd, a philanthropist and retired military officer and chairman of RKK disclosed this while briefing journalists in Kano at the weekend.

According to Sani, the initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability by planting economic trees like Mango, Tamarind, Cashew etc, honor the legacy of General Murtala Muhammad, and support the development of Kano’s youth.

The chairman revealed that his organization has supplied teaching materials such as record books, trained students on good manners, supply drugs to primary schools, first aid box among others.

He said science schools have been equipped with laboratories and skeletons to aid learning, while teachers’ needs are being addressed to improve the quality of education.

He said women empowerment is also a key focus of RKK as many women have been supported with ₦25,000 capital to start small businesses, helping them achieve financial independence.

On digitization, the RKK has started teaching the basics of quantum computing, burying and selling raw materials including digitalization of day to day activities.

General Sani said the group has placed strong emphasis on the construction of boreholes in schools and rural communities including Nassarwa and Gabasawa local government to improve access to potable water.

The retired major general has told journalists that the Kano Patriotic Front’s second anniversary celebration will hold on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Trade Fair Complex, Kano.
