Kebbi NUJ Mourns Death of Seven Gombe Journalists

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kebbi State Council, has expressed shocked and saddened by the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of seven esteemed journalists in Gombe State on December 29, 2025.

In a statement by the State Council Chairman, Comrade Bello Sarki Abubakar and Secretary Comrade Isma’il Adebayo on behalf of the entire working journalists in Kebbi State, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the NUJ National Council, the NUJ Gombe State Council, and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) family.

The NUJ Kebbi State Council notes with dismay the circumstances surrounding the accident, which occurred while the journalists were returning from an event in Gombe South Senatorial District. We commend the bravery and dedication of these journalists who lost their lives in the line of duty, and we stand in solidarity with the bereaved families.

We pray for the repose of the departed souls. We also urge the relevant authorities to ensure that the injured journalists receive the best medical attention.

We Condole with the NUJ Gombe State Council and the NTA family during this difficult time.
