Kebbi Schoolgirls Abduction: Governor Idris Queries Military Withdrawal as NLC Pays Visit

The executive governor of Kebbi State Alhaji Nasir Idris has called on the federal government to investigate the withdrawal of the military attached to Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School Maga, Danko Wasagu local area of the state.

The Governor made the statement while receiving the Executives of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC who visited the state over the abduction of the schoolgirls in Maga, Danko Wasagu local government area of the state.

He said, the military personnel were at school up to 3:00 am and withdrew at about 3:45 am which is questionable as the student were abducted some minutes after the military withdrawal.

The Governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking steps towards ensuring that the schoolgirls are rescued as he gives directives to security agencies to strategies more efforts to rescue the students as he also sends Vice President and Minister of State for Defence.

He also called on people of the state to intensify prayers in mosques and churches for lasting peace to prevail in the state and the country at large.

Earlier, National President of the NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero said they are in Kebbi to commiserate with government and people of the state Over the abduction of 25 students, saying that their hearts are with the students, their parents, people and government of Kebbi State.

Comrade Ajaero, prayed for quick rescue of the students by the security operatives.
