The Forums of Special Advisers to Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, have resolved to take legal action against former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, over alleged defamation and attempts to cause disharmony in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Advisers, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Alhaji Shafi’u Abubakar Shattiman Zauro, disclosed this while addressing newsmen including GLOBAL TRACKER correspondent on Friday in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the decision followed allegations by Malami that the present administration in Kebbi State was sponsoring terrorism.

Zauro described the allegations as “baseless and mischievous,” stressing that they were capable of portraying the state in a negative light.
“Most of us who know Malami are not surprised by his antics. He once took his political leader, Atiku Abubakar, to court, claiming he was not a Nigerian.
“He also reported former House of Representatives member, Wambai Koko, to the EFCC and ICPC when Wambai indicated interest in contesting for governor, even though they are now close allies,” he recalled.
The aide accused Malami of not contributing to the development of Kebbi State during and after his tenure as minister.
“Malami has not shown benevolence to the people nor contributed to infrastructure development, not even to his alma mater, Junju Primary School.
“Kebbi is known for peace and tranquility. He is not happy with the successes recorded by Governor Nasir Idris, especially in attracting investment in the mining sector, which he failed to do while in office,” Zauro alleged.
According to him, the people of Kebbi are committed to preserving peace and will seek redress through the courts rather than resort to violence.
“It is the collective decision of our people to institute legal action against Malami for defamation, character assassination, and acts capable of causing disharmony.
“What we desire is the sustenance of peace and tranquility in Kebbi, a land of abundance and surplus food, devoid of rancour,” he said.
