The Bauchi state police command has ordered the discreet investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing of teenage girls Fatima Salihu Mohammed.
The command’s public relations officer CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil disclosed this in a statement on behalf of the state commissioner of police which was sighted by GLOBAL TRACKER correspondent Nasiru Muhammed Waziri.
The statement reads “On the 25th September, 2025 at about 1130hrs the command received a formal complaint regarding a missing person lodged by one Salihu Mohammed Chimo ‘m’ aged 62yrs of Federal Polytechnic’s staff quarters through ‘E’ Divisional Police Headquarters that on 24th September, 2025 at about 1000hrs his daughter one Fatima Salihu Mohammed ‘f’ aged 24yrs of same address was sent to buy groceries at Birshin Fulani but she wasn’t returned home.

Upon receipt of the report, the command drafted a team of detectives, including those with surveillance expertise, and technological tools were launched to trace her whereabouts.
Unfortunately, on 29th September 2025 at about 1230hrs information receipt through a distress call from village head of Birshin Fulani indicated that on the same date at about 1200hrs he received information from one Bashar Adamu ‘m’ of Birshin Fulani while working on his father’s maize farm situated within Federal Polytechnic staff quarters, he perceived an unpleasant odour within the farm, while searching to know the cause of odour, he discovered a decomposing female body.
On receipt of the information, a team of detectives led by DPO E’ Division CSP Yahaya Yunusa visited the scene, cordoned the area, observed and identified the corpse as the said missing girl, Fatima Salihu Mohammed. The deceased was found alongside her bags, and the groceries she had bought were by her side.
The corpse was moved to the Federal Polytechnic’s clinic, and her death was certified by a medical practitioner. Afterwards, the remain was handed over to her relatives for burial arrangements.
