The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) headquarters was shut down today as staff members staged a protest, voicing their grievances over working conditions and staff welfare.
A video footage obtained by GLOBAL TRACKER sighted the employees, gathered outside the Federal Secretariat Complex, where NCFRMI is located, held placards and chanted slogans, demanding immediate attention from the management.
Their main demands include reviewing their work conditions, improving staff welfare, and addressing systemic issues affecting their productivity and morale.

According to sources, the staff has been facing challenges, including inadequate resources, poor remuneration, and lack of support from the management.
The protest leader emphasized that if their demands aren’t met, they would embark on a strike, which would significantly impact the commission’s operations and humanitarian services to refugees, migrants, and internally displaced persons.
This development comes on the heels of similar protests and industrial actions by other Nigerian organizations, highlighting the growing concerns over workers’ rights and welfare in the country.
