The Vice President Kashim Shettima and Governor of Kebbi State Dr Nasiru Idris Kauran Gwandu were among thousands of sympathisers at the funeral of Muhammad Sani Sami retired, the Emir of Zuru in Kebbi state.
The late Muhammadu Sani Sami was a retired Major General of the Nigerian Army and former governor of Bauchi State during military regime of former President Muhammad Buhari.
The funeral prayer was attended by the vice president Kashim Shettima, Governor Dr Nasiru Idris Kauran Gwandu of Kebbi State, Senator Bala Na Allah, the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Saad Abubakar III, Emir of Kano Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, Emir of Yawuri, Arugungu, Zamfara Anka, Gummi, among others.

Others are Retired General Magoro Galadiman Zuru, Senator Maidoki, and
some members of the Kebbi state Assembly and the state executive council, Top government functionaries, politicians, ulamas and members of the business community.
The Chief Imam of Zuru central Mosque Imam Malam Suleman Muhammadu is the one who led the funeral prayer after performing the two rakaat jumu’at prayer.
In an interview with the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has expressed grief over the death of the Emir of Zuru, Retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Sani-Sami.
The Emir who is the Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional rulers, described the death of his colleague as a great loss not only to his family, Zuru emirate and Kebbi State, but to Nigeria as a whole.
Similarly Sarkin Zamfara Anka Alhaji Attahiru Muhammad Ahmed, who was at the burial of the late emir, described the deceased as “a respected traditional ruler who dedicated his reign to the unity, peace and development of his people.”
The royal father, who is also the Chairman, Zamfara State Council of Chiefs, said the emir’s death was not only a loss to Kebbi State but also to the entire traditional institution in Nigeria.
