A prominent Islamic cleric in Zaria of Kaduna state Sheikh Usman Idris Kusfa, popularly known as “Rigi-Rigi,” has passed away at the age of 57.
The death of the respected scholar was confirmed on Monday by Malam Nasiruddeen Umar, also known as Baharu, a senior disciple of the cleric, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Zaria.
According to Umar, Sheikh Kusfa died in the early hours of Monday at a private hospital in Kaduna after battling an illness for several months.

He noted that the late cleric was widely respected for his Islamic teachings and had, in recent years, gained a large following on TikTok and other social media platforms, where his sermons reached thousands of followers.
Sheikh Kusfa is survived by four wives, 37 children, and many grandchildren.
Umar further disclosed that the funeral prayer for the deceased is scheduled to take place in Kusfa, Zaria City, at 4:30 pm today.
