President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors, comprising 31 non-career and 34 career diplomats to various Nigerian missions abroad and the United Nations.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Presidency through the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the ambassadors-designate had earlier been confirmed by the Nigerian Senate in December before the latest postings were approved.

According to the presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already received agrément/formal diplomatic approval from the United Kingdom for Nigeria’s High Commissioner-designate, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu.
Similarly, the France has granted agrément for Ambassador Ayo Oke, clearing the way for his formal deployment.
The ministry has also forwarded the names of the remaining 62 envoys to their respective host countries, requesting agrément in accordance with established diplomatic protocol.
Induction Programme Ordered
President Tinubu has directed the Foreign Affairs Ministry to immediately begin an induction programme for the ambassadors-designate and high commissioners to prepare them for their diplomatic assignments.
The postings mark a major step in strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic presence worldwide as the administration seeks to deepen bilateral relations, promote economic diplomacy, and enhance Nigeria’s global engagement.
