Zamfara Religious Commissioner Urges Muslims to Intensify Prayers for Peace, Unity

Muslims have been charged to intensify prayers during this Ramadan period for peace and stability to prevail in Zamfara state and the country in general.

The Chief Imam of Muslims Foundation Jumu’at Mosque and state commissioner for religious affairs Dr Muhammad Tukur Sani Jangebe gave the charge while delivering Ramadan tafsir in Gusau, the state capital.

Dr Tukur Jangebe said that, ramadan fasting in Islam is the ninth month of fasting, repentance, and good deeds and called for people to repent, and to totally surrender to Almighty God Allah.

According to him, fasting is a form of self-discipline and a way to show devotion to God or a higher power a situation where Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs from dawn until sunset each day.

The Chief Imam added that, fasting may not be appropriate for everyone, particularly those with certain medical conditions or who are pregnant or breastfeeding, adding that, it is always recommended to consult with a healthcare provider before beginning any fasting regimen.

He therefore advocates for constant assistance to Muslim ummah especially the needy with food and other materials to enable them to cushion the hardship being experienced

Dr Jangebe also attributed the recent social unrest that has been bedeviling Zamfara state and the country at large to lack of obedience to Almighty God Allah and called for people to fear Allah in the discharge of their daily activities.

He urged Muslims to redouble their effort as the month of Ramadan is about to finished.
