SOKOTO: NLC Accuses Tambuwal Of None Payment of Pension, Gratuities, Late Payment of Salaries, Others

The Nigerian labour Congress (NLC) has accused the Sokoto state government of late payment of salaries as well as pension and gratuities to the retired civil servants in the state.

The chairman of the union in Sokoto comrade Abdullahi Aliyu made the accusation in commemoration of the workers day held in the state.

comrade Aliyu also decried none payment of remittances to the unions and cooperatives bodies which were deducted from the workers salaries.

He added that the outgoing Sokoto state government failed in the area of training and retraining of the existing civil servants in the state.

However, the NLC Chairman pledged to collaborate with the incoming state government for effective development of the state and the welfare of the NLC members in Sokoto state.

The chairman commended the leadership and members of all industrial unions in the state for their commitment in ensuring effective service delivery.

In a remark, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state says the economy of the state was built on the commitment and effort of the civil servants in the state.

Represented by the state head of service, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad, the governor commended the Sokoto state workers for their commitment and dedication towards the development of Sokoto state.

The governor hope that the incoming Government would work towards the development and welfare of the workers in the state.
