NYSC @50: Towoju Flags off Anniversary in Kwara

Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Olabode Towoju, has flagged off the 50th anniversary of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with a call on Corps members to abide by the regulations guiding the scheme.

The flag off ceremony of the golden jubilee, was marked with a road walk from the NYSC secretariat through major areas in Ilorin,the state capital.

The Commissioner, who doubles as the Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board, reiterated that youths are very significant to the growth of the nation.

According to him when the youths are neglected, the nation will be affected grossly.

Mr Towoju urged the youth to take advantage of opportunities available in the state to develop themselves.

He explained that the state government has created an enabling environment, where youths are given start-up capital to kickstart their innovations and businesses.

Earlier in his address , the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Jimba Christopher enjoined the corp members to keep the nation’s flag flying.
