NLC, TUC Condemn Non-payment of Two Months Salary to Zamfara Civil Servants

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, the Trade Union Congress, TUC, Zamfara State Chapter have Condemed the non payment of two months salary of the state civil servants.

This was contained in a Joint Statement by the two labour unions (NLC/TUC) signed by their Chairmen Comrade Sani Halliru of NLC and Comrade Saidu Mudi of TUC and made available to newsmen in Gusau the state capital.

According to the statement, series of issues and meetings were vigorously held in respect of the above subject matter involving all the stakeholders on the best way to address the issues but failed.

It added that, the two labour unions, the Nigeria labour congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, strongly condemned the act and expressed their dismay over the nonchalant attitude of the Zamfara state government to pay salary of its workers for two consecutive months.

The statement further explain that, having patiently waited for the salary to be paid, the two labour unions therefore called on state government to save lives of their workers and that of their families who heavily relies on salary as their legitimate earnings.

The two unions NLC/TUC have understood and are concerned about how aggrieved state civil servants are, however, crave for their indulgence, support and cooperation as they move to fight for their rights.

They urge their members to be more patient and persevere as they vowed not to relent until their salary is paid Insha Allah.
