Bandits Killed 25 Farmers, Abducts Many Others in Fresh Attack in Niger

Bandits have reportedly killed twenty five (25) farmers and abducted scores of people including women and children in Fresh Attack on various communities in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

This is coming just a day after killing thirteen (13) members of Vigilante and abduction of many villagers in Kusharki village by the bandits.

The attack reportedly took place today around two o’clock in the evening in five villages.

Confirming the attack, a community leader in one of the villages, who did not want his name mentioned for security reason alleged that the bandits have resumed attacks with full force in some villages in the local government while calling on governments and security agencies to come to their aid to ameliorate their hardship.

He however alleged that they were in the last two weeks under seige by bandits as the situation had worsened.

Also confirming the attack, Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Mohammed Sani Musa exppressed concern that the bandits had resumed attacks in four local government councils of Rafi, Paikoro, Munya and Shiroro that form part of his constituency.

But he expressed confidence that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the center and that of Niger state Government under the leadership of Governor Umar Mohammed Bago would soon deal with such challenges.

Police Public Relations Offiicer Niger State Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said the police in collaborations with military have been dispatched to Yakila, Tegina, Kagara, Pandogari, Kusherki and other villages to restore normalcy in the affected areas.
