Kebbi Govt. Distributes Relief Materials to IDPs

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has sympathised with the victims of recent bandit attacks at some villages in Fakai and Sakaba local government areas of the state.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar, the State Governor, presented relief materials to over 3000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) at Mahuta in Fakai Local Government Areas of to cushion their suffering.

While assuring the IDPs of more security measures to tackle the insecurity bedeviling the area,, the Governor urged the victims to take heart and bear with the situation as it is destined by the Almighty Allah.

“We will not tolerate such activities to continue happening, we will take all necessary actions to make sure you get back to your homes immediately”.

He warned against spreading rumour and false information amongst people, which according to him could further instill fear in the minds of people.

Earlier in a remark, the Chief of Fakai, Alhaji Muhammad Hudu Dan Malam, while thanking the Governor and the Deputy for the concern and relief assistance, he stated that, about 50 villages were affected by banditry, with over 3000 persons displaced from their respective settlements.

He appealed to the state government to hasten its measures to enable the IPD’s return to their homes, so that their children will continue with their studies.
