Staff Capacity Building: Kano Govt. Partners ICAN

The Kano state government has said that it would partners with the management of Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAN) in building the capacity of its workers with a view to enhance productivity in the financial services, accountability and accuracy.

The state accountant general (A.G) Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam stated this while receiving ICAN management on a courtesy visit to his office.

Abdulsalam maintained that for over eight (8) years there was no serious training of the staff particularly accountants and Internal auditors in order to boost their capacity and efficiency.

He assured the Institute officials that his office is ready to partner with the ICAN and immediately commence a quarterly staff training and workshop to strengthen the capacity of the workforce for maximum outputs.

In a statement signed by director public relations and Enlightenment, Bashir Habib Yahaya quoted the A.G as registering his appreciation to the Institute officials for the visit nothing that ICAN being his constituency will work with the motto of the association, ‘Integrity and Accuracy’.

Earlier, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk an official in the Kano state Institute’s branch stated that they are in Accountant General’s office to congratulate him for his recent appointment by Executive Governor, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Dr. Abubakar also described the appointment as a right choice that could state government do.
