Take Ownership of Your Health Facilities, Kano ACOMIN Chairman Tells Populace.

The civil society fighting against Malaria in Africa (ACOMIN) has urged the general public to take ownership of their health facilities so as to ensure protections of people’s live and accountability in health sector in the state.

The state chairman of ACOMIN Dr. Nura Haladu stated this at the advocacy visits to the Gaya local government chairman Alhaji Ahmed T. Abdullahi at Gaya local government secretariat.

Dr. Haladu Represented by Audu Tela said the visit is aimed at ensuring that the immediate community benefits from every drugs and consumables items and all the services rendered by the facilities.

According to him, the visit focused on provisions of security and sitting chairs for pregnant women at Zorama health facility and ensure that the immediate community of Zorama and its environ including ward headquarters have joined hand for the successful operation of the facility.

He said during the visit another discussion was held with the management of Gaya local government on the issue surrounding Sarkin Noma health facility all in Shagogo ward especially provision of electricity which would be used in daily operations.

He then urged philanthropist, politicians, Nongovernmental organizations, traditional rulers and well to do individual to contributes their quoted in protecting people’s health so that people lives can be improved.

In a remarks, the Gaya local government chairman Ahmed T Abdullahi represented by the Secretary to the local government Hassan Abdu Maimakawa appropriate the visit describing ACOMIN as partners in progress.

Maimakawa who promptly address security issues at Zorama, assured visitors that all the raised problems will be dressed on due course, adding that “this is our responsibility, this is our work, we have been doing it, we will continue and we are ready to work with any organizations capable of improving the lives of our people.”

The chairman then solicits the support of philanthropist in Gaya local government area to support the initiatives of Gaya council administration so as to achieve the said objectives.
