The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised proprietors and instructors of driving schools to caution their drivers against indiscipline, but imbibe good road culture.
The FRSC Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali-Biu, gave the advice in Kano on Thursday, during the 2023 National capacity training organised for Proprietors and Instructors of driving schools in Nigeria.
Ali-Biu said that drivers, proprietors and instructors would be made to face the wrath of law for any offence they committed, warning that there will not be anyone left behind in punishing offenders, hence the appeal before hand.
The Corps Marshal who was represented by Deputy Corps Marshal, Shehu Alkali at the workshop with the theme: “Role and challenges of driving for safer transportation in Nigeria.”
He said the training was organised to X-ray driving school operations and their impact on the reduction of Road Traffic Crashes (RTC) on Nigeria roads.

According to him, basic objective of the annual program is provision of viable platform for both regulator and operators of driving school industry to review, access gains, impacts and challenges obtainable in the Industry.
“We have commence implementation of National skills Qualifications (NSQ) level three for articulated vehicle driving to produce skilled articulated vehicle drivers for both local and international market.
“Tricycle and motorcycle riders education, which is a major mode of transportation in both rural and urban cities conveying passengers and goods has also commence.
“This became imperative since available statistics indicate that most riders of these categories of vehicles do not have required training, licence to operate such vehicle.
“Computer Based Test and drivers education will ensure that drivers are adequately and effectively tutored on all aspects of driving before applying for drivers license”,he said.
Responding on behalf of Proprietors of driving schools, Mr. Richard Isaac of Havilah Driving School, Kano, described the workshop as timely and will serve as a way of reinforcing tenets of driving.
