As everyone knows, the nomination of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to the top leadership of the All-progressive Congress (APC) is not coming by surprise because he is one of the party’s sons who dedicated himself to the development of the APC.

A seasoned administrator and political leader who torches many other lives positively during his eight years as the Governor of Kano state been one of the most populous states if not first in Nigeria.

His choice by the party top leadership was based on competency, wealth of experience and leadership ability that he exhibited all these qualities for decades, for him to return the party to the founding vision.

He was picked following the recent resignation of a party’s Chairman, who is the former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

Dr. Ganduje became the Chairman in the party’s 12 National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

The NEC is the 2nd highest decision-making organ of the party and its membership consist of the President, Governors who are members of the party, National Working Committee (NWC) members and State Chairmen of the party, among others.

Dr. Ganduje is a true bureaucrat whose contribution was written in gold both at the centre and the peri-peri.

This personality is the one who will do justice to the journey of a ruling party like APC, the party that is second to none-especially in the democratic history of Nigeria.

His closeness to the serving head of state, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not happen just the way many can witness it now, but as a result of his diligence and sacrifice, who helped the journey from its inception when many were seen as a taboo.

Illegality of him becoming the Chairman of the party is not worth talking about, considering his input in the state affairs.

In terms of human development and state building, his contribution will not be forgotten in Kano, and some other places he worked before.

Ganduje’s wisdom and foresight will give him the chance to win many hearts, that is to say to draw the attention of many people that are in the party to come and give their own quota toward the development of this country that is running its leadership through voting by the majority.

In addition, his leadership style and procedures will also allow him to settle existing disputes within the party stakeholders thereby paving the way for the most united party in Nigeria ever.

To match words with action, and from my own Sir, I can say that there is need for you to re-invest hugely in the youth that are actively in the political circle and those aspiring to be in some positions across all corners of this country, because they will help the system and allow the party to achieve the aims and objectives of its creation.

“This will actually help in promoting internal democracy, defend and increase the number of executives and legislative seats the party currently holds in the state of the country under your watch.

“Also, there is an urgent need to unite your members to achieve support for the current administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in order to deliver and execute all the campaign promises”.

This is one of the ways that will sustain your good legacy and impact positively on the lives of the masses.

To the party stakeholders and members, having somebody like Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is a golden opportunity to the party that you are not supposed to let him retire in the near future.

You must devise a means of utilizing his leadership ability, wisdom and wealth of experience to arrive at the promised land.

“This to say, you must not allow him to leave, but to re-elect him for another tenure”.

Dr. Ganduje happens to be the 6th National Chairman of the ruling APC, after Chief Bisi Akande (2013 – 2014), Chief John Odigie Oyegun (2014 – 2018), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole (2018 – 2020), then Governor of Yobe State Mai Mala Buni (2020 – 2022) and Abdullahi Adamu (2022 – 2023).
