Polio: Kaduna Parents Urges to Immunize Children Under 5 Years

Kaduna State Government in collaboration with Development Partners has tasked parents to ensure they immunize their children against killer diseases.

The statement, jointly signed by Kaduna State Primary Health care Development Board and Journalists Initiative on Immunization Against Polio (JAP) Kaduna State Chapter Coordinator Lawan Dogara explained that children aged 0-59 months will receive injectable fIPV Vaccines, oral nOPV, and other Routine Immunization Vaccines under the Phase 2 of the immunization exercise which will commence from 7-12 August, 2023 in the state.

He explained that the Phase 1 of the exercise covered 12 Local Government Areas from 29th July to 3rd August, 2023, while the Phone 2 will cover the remaining 11 LGAs.

He said the Vaccination posts will be set up at designated locations such as palaces, schools, hospitals, churches, mosques, offices, markets, and other community centers.

The statement advises parents to take their children to the nearest vaccination post to ensure they are fully vaccinated against polio and other preventable childhood diseases.
