Immunization: Kano Govt. Assured To Produce Robust Annual RI Work Plan For 2024

The Kano state Government has pledged to place more emphasis on the Routine Immunization (RI) exercise for the betterment of the children of the state.

The Commissioner of Health Dr. Abubakar Labarin Yusuf made this known while declaring a 3- Day Routine Immunization Annual work plan for the year 2024, held in Kaduna on Monday.

The Commissioner pledged that the year 2024 is expected to record a tremendous success as the performance of the Routine Immunization was based on the comprehensive work plan at the end of the meeting.

He urged all the stakeholders who are responsible for the conduct of the Routine Immunization program especially at the local government areas to redouble efforts in the discharge of their responsibilities as the present administration will not condone laxity or nonchalant attitude, that would course the hindering of the success of the routine immunization exercise.

In a statement signed by public relations officer of the state Primary Health Care Management Agency (KSPHCMB) Maikudi Muhammad Marafa quoted Dr. Labarin Yusuf as commanding the state government and development partners for committing huge resources towards the successful conduct of the exercise and other health related issues in the State.

In his remarks, the Director General of KSPHCMB Dr. Muhammad Nasir Mahmoud highlighted on the objectives of the work plan that includes, to review the status implementation of the 2024 RI plan, highlight the 2023 key routine immunization achievement, challenges, recommendations and also developed a comprehensive 2024 RI work plan.

Dr. Nasir then assured the state government that a robust RI work plan for the state will be produce after the day review meeting and therefore urged the participants to be committed and dedicated for the success of the work plan.
