Police Arrests Animal Rustler, Drugs Baron, Others in Jigawa

The Jigawa state police command said it has arrested one Buhari Abubakar aged 30 years of Dansure Village, Roni local government area of the state on allegations of possession and trading prohibited drugs.

The command in a statement signed and sent to GLOBAL TRACKER by assistant public relations officer ASP Abubakar Isah said four categories of drugs was found in possession of the said suspect.

According to the statement the exhibits recovered from the suspect are some quantity of dried leaves is suspected to be an Indian hemp, two hundred and fifty (250) tablets of Exol, twenty-nine (29) tablets of diazepam and two (2) tablets of Tramadol.

Meanwhile, the command has arrested Usman Ibrahim of Kabala quarters in Jahun local government area on allegations of vandalising armoured cables.

According to the Abubakar Isah “On 18/09/2023 at about 1130hrs, a distress call was received at Jahun Police station that, smoke was seen coming out from the house of one Usman Ibrahim ‘m’ age 23yrs of Kabala quarters, Jahun LGA.

He said upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police officer led a team of Policemen and swiftly moved to the scene. On their arrival, it was discovered that the smoke was a result of burning armoured cables strongly suspected to be stolen by the said Usman Ibrahim. Hence he was arrested.

On interrogation, the suspect confessed to having dug and vandalized cables along Jahun to Kafin Hausa road.

Also, in another development the command has arrested one driver believe to be cattle rustler.

According to the police “on 24/9/2023 at about 0430hrs, information received from a reliable source had it that, one Opel vehicle was seen with three occupants conveying three Rams suspected to be stolen along Yanbaro village S/Tankarkar to Gumel axis.”

On receipt of the report, the patrol team from Sule Tankarkar Division were detailed and the vehicle was intercepted, In the process, the three occupants escaped and fled to an unknown destination, the driver was arrested and the three rams were recovered.

On interrogation, the driver confessed to having received the stolen rams from the fleeing suspects.

With the development, the state commissioner of police Effiom Emmanuel Ekot has directed all the DPOs to carry out raids at every nook and cranny within their Area of Responsibilities so as to ensure the safety of Jigawa State residents.
