Jigawa Police Arrest 6 Suspected Firearms Supplier, Vandals, Recovers Motorcycle, Others

The Jigawa state police command said it has arrested two people on allegations of supplying firearms to unscrupulous elements terrorizing Ringim local government area and its environs.

ASP Abubakar Isah, the command assistant public relations officer in a statement sent to GLOBAL TRACKER said the two people arrested are Bilal Faraji aged 29 years of Niger republic and Yusuf A. Yusuf aged 28 years of Kazaure local government area of the state.

It said “on 03/10/2023 at about 0900hrs, one Bilal Faraji ‘m’ age 29yrs of Niger Republic and one Yusuf A. Yusuf ‘m’ age 28yrs of Kazaure LGA Jigawa state were arrested as the suppliers of firearms and ammunition to unscrupulous elements terrorizing Ringim and its environs.”

On interrogation, suspects confessed to have been selling and supplying firearms within Kano and Jigawa states.

Recall that, on 28/09/2023 at about 0930hrs, one Sagiru Musa ‘m’ age 30yrs of Kakikankare village in Ringim LGA of Jigawa State, reported at the Ringim Police Station that on the same date at about 0030hrs, unknown armed men numbering about four, criminally trespassed into his house and went to away with his motor vehicle golf 3 wagon green in color with registration number RNG 691 AA Jigawa State, valued at one million eight hundred naira only (#1, 800, 000.00k), two (2) tecno phone keypad. He further stated that his ATM card, Voter card, National I.D card, Custom duty, Vigilante I.D. card, and vehicle particulars are also kept in the said stolen vehicle.

Meanwhile, the command ha Arrested three suspected cables Vandals.

It said “on 09/09/2023 at about 0230hrs, one Alhaji Ibrahim Jeke ‘m’, Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Dutse International Airport (DIA) reported at Fanisau Police Station that on the same date at about 0230hrs unknown hoodlums have made away with one air condition and vandalized cable wires from glide slope and VOR at the airport.”

“On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police officer mobilized a team of policemen and rushed to the scene of crime to ascertain the level of damage and possible arrest of the culprits.”

Fortunately, on 29/09/2023 three suspects namely; Mutari Idris ‘m’ age 30yrs, Adamu Idris ‘m’ age 24yrs all of Bakin Ruwa village Dutse LGA, Jigawa State and Yasir Iliyasu ‘m’ age 25yrs of Kara Makama village Ajingi LGA, Kano State were arrested in connection with the case.

When search was conducted in their houses, four cartridges of pump action, one axe, earth cables, connection wire condoms, armoured cables and air condition fan blades were recovered from the suspects.

On interrogation, the suspects confessed to have trespassed into the airport and vandalized some valuable properties.

Also, in another development, on 29/9/2023 at about 1000hrs one Sale Ali aged ‘m’ 47yrs of Duhuwa village reported at Kiyawa Police station that, he parked his motorcycle boxer red in colour without Reg. Number at Andaza village Kiyawa LGA and went to Wudil market in Kano state, when he came back, he discovered that the said motorcycle was carted away by unknown persons.

On receipt of the report, a team of policemen attached to Kiyawa Division swungintoo action, where one Yasir Abubakar aged 26yrs ‘m’ of Andaza village, Kiyawa LGA was arrested and the motorcycle was recovered in his possession.

On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the offence.
